Wisconsin becomes latest state to recruit fired federal workers

Gov. Tony Evers (D-WI) announced on Thursday an initiative to recruit federal workers laid off by the Trump administration in its efforts to downsize the federal workforce.

The governor’s office opened a portal for newly fired federal workers to highlight jobs available in the state. Wisconsin had 28,915 federal workers as of last year, according to the Economic Policy Institute.
