Winter Olympics 2022 – Team USA goes 1-2 in slopestyle, USA hockey in the quarterfinals and more from the action in Beijing

It’s a Team USA top two in the men’s freeski slopestyle, as Alex Hall and Nick Goepper were 1-2 in the event. That was a good start for the U.S. ahead of win-or-go-home time for the 2022 Winter Olympics hockey tournament in Beijing.

With a 4-0 win over Germany on Monday, Slovakia entered the men’s hockey quarterfinals to face Team USA. The Americans went 3-0-0 in the preliminary round, while Slovakia notched only one win. Despite that, however, Slovakia sent the game into overtime with a last-minute goal and won it in a shootout.

We’re going to overtime. Slovakia’s Martin Hrivik scored with 44 seconds left in regulation to tie Team USA, 2-2, in their Olympic men’s quarterfinal game.
