Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu addressed his nation on Saturday evening to reassure them that the Israeli military would continue the invasion of Gaza until “absolute victory” over Hamas had been achieved.
Netanyahu spoke at a press conference roughly 36 hours after Hamas broke a seven-day truce, ending negotiations that had led to the release of 84 Israeli women and children that it had taken hostage, as well as 24 foreign nationals.
In his address, Netanyahu mourned the death of an Israel Defense Forces (IDF) officer whose death in the Hamas terror attack of October 7 had only just been confirmed, and whose body was still being held by the terrorist organization.
