Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese fell off a stage at a campaign event Thursday after giving a speech to miners.
Video of the incident shows the 62-year-old Albanese suddenly stumble and fall behind the stage as people take note of the incident. With the aid of those around him, the head of Australia’s government quickly recovers from his stumble and bounces back on stage to the applause of attendees.
The prime minister insisted he was okay afterward, the Australian Broadcasting Corporation reported. “I stepped back one step. I didn’t fall off the stage … just one leg went down, but I was sweet,” he said when addressing the incident, according to Reuters.
