said it added 387,000 digital subscribers in the first quarter, thanks in part to its recent acquisitions of sports-media company the Athletic and viral word game Wordle.
The news organization said it ended the quarter with 8.3 million digital subscribers. The subscriber figure is a new measure introduced this quarter that counts the individuals who subscribe to at least one Times product. Overall, the company ended the quarter with 9.1 million total subscribers, who accounted for 10.4 million subscriptions.
