U.S. Stocks Open Lower With Focus on the Fed

U.S. stocks opened lower and government-bond yields climbed Friday as investors sought to assess how aggressively the Federal Reserve will need to move to tame inflation. 

The S&P 500 dropped 0.6% shortly after the opening bell, a day after the benchmark index ticked up slightly. The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 191 points, or 0.5%, and the Nasdaq Composite declined 0.9%.
