Former President Donald Trump’s legal team is furthering its efforts to oust Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis from Trump’s Georgia election interference case. In a Monday court filing, the former president’s attorneys argued that Willis’s conduct surrounding the trial, particularly her relationship with prosecutor Nathan Wade, are causes for removal.
The appeal comes after a lower court ruled Willis could stay on the case if Wade stepped down, which he did. However, Trump’s attorneys weren’t satisfied. They argued Willis has shown a conflict of interest with her actions and comments in interviews and on social media.
