President Donald Trump selected Stanley Woodward, a lawyer who has represented several Trump allies, to serve as associate attorney general — the third highest position in the Justice Department.
Woodward currently serves as a White House lawyer. He has never represented Trump, but he has served as counsel for people in Trump’s orbit. Woodward represented Trump’s personal aide Walt Nauta, who was indicted for the role he played in Trump’s handling of classified documents at Mar-a-Lago.
