Three people arrested during pro-Palestinian protest at Union Station

Three people were arrested at a protest at Union Station in Washington, D.C., on Friday night, where a crowd of hundreds of pro-Palestinian protesters gathered to call for a ceasefire in the Israel-Hamas war.

The protest, the likes of which was also seen at Penn Station in New York City, resulted in the station’s red line being shut down for three hours while the protest was happening. However, when the crowds dissipated at around 8 p.m., the trains resumed their schedule, according to WTOP News.

Protesters douse the walls outside the station with graffiti and press red hand prints on them. Those arrested were detained for defacing property, the Metropolitan Police Department told the Washington Examiner. A fourth person was also arrested at Union Station on Friday night but was unrelated to the protest.
