Kennedy Jr. RFK secured his position in a 52-48 Senate vote on party lines, aside from Mitch McConnell who broke ranks and attempted to block Kennedy’s nomination. Dr. Lawrence A. Tabak suddenly resigned from his position as principal deputy director at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) days before Kennedy was appointed. Tabak was the second-in-command behind Anthony Fauci during the entire COVID era. The GOP investigation into the origins of COVID found that Tabak was part of a sensitive phone call with Fauci and NIH Director Francis Collins in which they schemed to publish a scientific paper to “prove” COVID was not created in a lab – let alone a lab he helped to fund.
