There’s a famous adage that politics is show business for ugly people, and nowhere is that more true than in the House of Representatives.
On Thursday, a hearing of the House Oversight Committee devolved into insults between lawmakers as Reps. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY), Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA), and Jasmine Crockett (D-TX) took turns insulting each other’s character, intelligence, and physical appearance.
Greene sparked the tiff with a remark about Crockett’s “fake eyelashes” interfering with her ability to read. Ocasio-Cortez responded by condescendingly referring to Greene as “baby girl,” prompting the Georgia Republican to say the New York Democrat lacked intelligence.
