U.S. stocks slumped Tuesday, giving up early gains, as investors parsed fresh economic figures and assessed the impact China’s loosening Covid-19 restrictions would have on global economic growth.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average dropped roughly 190 points, or 0.6%, erasing an earlier gain of 1.4%. The S&P 500 lost 1.1%, while the technology-focused Nasdaq Composite Index fell 2%.
