Stocks Close Lower as More Central Banks Raise Rates

U.S. stocks dropped after the latest interest-rate increases from the Federal Reserve and other central banks, which have added to fears that the battle to control rising prices could bring a recession. 

The S&P 500 lost about 0.8%, extending losses from Wednesday when it closed down 1.7%. The tech-heavy Nasdaq Composite declined 1.4% and the Dow Jones Industrial Average was down 0.4%.
