Steve Bannon files emergency request to delay reporting to prison

Former Donald Trump adviser Steve Bannon has filed an emergency request to avoid reporting to prison on July 1 after he was sentenced in October 2022 because he defied a House Jan. 6 committee subpoena. The request was filed in a federal appeals court in Washington, D.C.

In order to justify his continued release, Bannon’s attorney cited his intention “to vigorously pursue his remaining appeals” in the case. Bannon is seeking a decision on his request by June 18, a week from now and less than two weeks before he’s scheduled to start his four-month prison stint.
