The White House has increased security measures after the attempted assassination of former President Donald Trump.
In the immediate aftermath of the assassination attempt, the Secret Service closed Pennsylvania Avenue and Lafayette Park to visitors in Washington, D.C., on Saturday evening. As of Monday, many public viewpoints for the White House remain closed.
Both the viewpoints for the North Lawn and the South Lawn remain closed as of Monday. Lafayette Park, which sits directly north of the White House, is also closed to the public.
