When I was a Business Owner I was Often at Year End Tax Planning Faced with the Reality that if I Invested in my own 401K plan I could put more in if the Others in my plan put more of their salary into the Kitty. This required that I pay them enough to have enough disposable income to invest. So I did, I valued their work I paid them more which benefited me too.
With Income tax. As business owner I was faced with the Option to purchase equipment I needed prior Paying taxes thereby reducing the Gross Total of my income, but I only did that if I really needed that Capital Equipment.
