Prosecutors, Defense Paint Conflicting Pictures of Sam Bankman-Fried

Prosecutors and defense attorneys clashed Wednesday over whether FTX founder Sam Bankman-Fried was a liar who stole billions of dollars—or an unconventional executive who made mistakes. 

During his closing argument, Assistant U.S. Attorney Nicolas Roos told jurors that almost a year ago, when thousands of people were trying to withdraw their money from the collapsing crypto exchange, their dread turned to despair.
