On Thursday, pro-Trump Congressman Cory Mills announced that he is considering challenging Ashley Moody in the Florida GOP primary for the United States Senate. Florida Governor Ron DeSantis appointed Moody to fill the vacant seat left by Marco Rubio, who is expected to be confirmed as President Trump’s Secretary of State. During the 2024 GOP Presidential Primary, Mills supported President Trump, while Moody backed Ron DeSantis. In Congress, Mills has been a vocal advocate for pro-Trump policies. At the RNC Convention last July, Mills expressed to Laura Loomer that he believed Secret Service Director Kim Cheatle should be removed due to the Secret Service’s failures surrounding the attempted assassination of President Trump on July 13th.
