On Wednesday morning, President Trump fired off a TruthSocial post demanding that National Cathedral Bishop Mariann Edgar Budde apologize to the American people for her pro-illegal immigration rhetoric during President Trump’s Inaugural Prayer Ceremony, which took place on Tuesday. Budde’s pro-open border statements should be no surprise, as FEC records show that Budde donated to Obama’s presidential campaign. Budde also made statements in 2019 that referred to President Trump’s rhetoric as “dangerous.” One thing is certain: the National Cathedral’s Bishop should not have the same talking points as elected Democrats on Capitol Hill.
