Comedian Bill Maher sparred Friday night with astrophysicist Neil deGrasse Tyson over acknowledging the differences between men and women in sports, saying he is “part of the problem.”
The “Real Time” host first pointed to former Scientific American editor-in-chief Laura Helmuth’s profanity-laced rant insulting voters of President-elect Donald Trump, which preceded her quitting the magazine. Maher then told Tyson, who brushed off the editor’s “fuck them to the moon and back” as a mere expression of opinion, that Helmuth’s comments were “not scientific.”
“I’m not for canceling anybody on either side, but here’s what I think is the scandal,” Maher told the scientist.
