Oil Prices Fall; Stocks Futures Rise

Oil prices fell, while stock futures gained, extending a volatile stretch for markets as investors assessed developments in Ukraine.

Futures on the S&P 500 rose 0.8% and Dow Jones Industrial Average futures strengthened 0.9%. Changes in futures don’t necessarily predict movements after the markets open.

In commodities, international benchmark Brent crude fell 2.3% to $110.12 a barrel. Gold also slipped 0.6% to $1,973.70 a troy ounce.

Europe stocks advanced Monday for a two-day winning streak. The Stoxx Europe 600 climbed 0.8% in morning trade. Financials and consumer staples sectors led gains while materials and energy sectors lost ground.
