Authorities reportedly charged a Brooklyn man with attempted murder and assault after he allegedly attacked four girls with a meat cleaver.
The New York Police Department (NYPD) accused 49-year-old Long Qian Chen of attacking four girls between the ages of 8 and 16, the New York Post (NYP) reported. One of the children, 11, called 911 and alleged that her uncle was the perpetrator. The NYPD said officers responded to the scene and shot Chen in the head and torso after he lunged at them with the meat cleaver in his hand.
NYPD Commissioner Jessica Tisch briefed reporters Sunday.
