NBA Launching Investigation Into 76ers On How They’re Handling Joel Embiid: REPORT

The NBA is launching an investigation into the Philadelphia 76ers regarding how they’re handling their All-NBA center Joel Embiid and his player participation, according to a report Wednesday from ESPN, citing league officials. In the preseason, Embiid never suited up because of what the franchise is labeling as left knee injury management. The 30-year-old also didn’t play in the season-opening game Wednesday, with the 76ers suffering a 124-109 defeat against the Milwaukee Bucks. He’s also slated to be absent at two extra games to start out the campaign against the Toronto Raptors (Friday) and Indiana Pacers (Sunday).
