NASA Investigates Possible Space Station Debris After Object Strikes Florida Home

The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) said Thursday that they are investigating the origins of an object that crashed through the roof of a home in Florida, The Associated Press (AP) reported.

NASA is investigating if a strange object that crashed through a Florida roof March 8, 2024 is space debris from the International Space Station, according to AP. The agency took the object to the Kennedy Space Center for tests. NASA spokesman Josh Finch said they’re examining it and will share findings later. Such space debris usually burns up upon entering Earth’s atmosphere, making this rare residential impact significant.

“More information will be available once the analysis is complete,” Finch said, AP reported.
