Musk’s America PAC has a $1 million canvassing operation in support of Wisconsin Supreme Court candidate Brad Schimel, a conservative.
The spending is Musk’s first campaign-related efforts since the presidential election. He spent close to $300 million to help elect President Donald Trump after latching on to the MAGA movement following the first assassination attempt against Trump’s life last July.
According to the New York Times, pamphlets delivered to some Wisconsin homes said “President Trump needs you to get out and vote,” with a link to a website helping people to register to vote or learn about how to vote early.
Waukesha County’s Schimel is running against Dane County’s Susan Crawford for a 10-year Wisconsin Supreme Court term with liberal Justice Ann Walsh Bradley retiring. Whoever wins Bradley’s spot will capture the majority on the bench.
