The White House said in a press call that the public has had a “slight overreaction” to a myriad of supposed drone sightings across the East Coast.
A senior administration official from the FBI remarked that many of the drone sightings are likely manned aircraft.
They “determined all large fixed-wing reported sightings have been manned aircraft.” The FBI official said they established a national tip line and have received around 5,000 tips. Of those tips, however, “less than 100 leads have been generated and deemed worthy of further investigative activity.”
