An illegal alien faced voter fraud charges on Monday in federal court, after he allegedly lived in America for years under a citizen’s stolen identity.
Carlos Jose Abreu, a 45-year-old national from the Dominican Republic, faces charges of “impersonating a United States citizen when registering to vote and when voting in a federal election,” according to a Department of Justice press release. He also faces a charge for unlawful possession of a firearm.
“If convicted on the voter fraud and gun charges, Abreu faces up to 15 years in federal prison,” the release reads. “He is also subject to deportation.”
