The United States House of Representatives (“The House”) and the United States Senate (“The Senate”) assembled in joint session today at 1:00 PM eastern US time to officially count the Electoral Votes from the November 5, 2024, election.
Vice President Kamala Harris, who, as the sitting Vice-President, presided over the ceremony, read the results aloud.
Republicans cheered loudly as she announced Trump’s 312 electoral votes, while Democrats did the same for her 226 electoral votes.
