In 2005, George Clooney directed, co-wrote, and starred in Good Night, and Good Luck. Now, he’s rebooting himself. Clooney will make his Broadway debut in a new adaptation of GNGL, playing Edward R. Murrow, it was revealed on May 13. David Strathairn played Murrow in the original film, while Clooney played Fred W. Friendly, the co-producer of Murrow’s show See It Now. Additionally, Clooney is leaving directing the play to the stage professionals — David Cromer, a Broadway vet who won a Tony for The Band’s Visit, will take the lead.
