Call it a coincidence? Maybe it’s beginner’s luck? Or perhaps it’s just another example of “promises made, promises kept”? Whatever the reason, one week into his second term, gas prices are already lower under President Donald Trump.
Consider it another gold star for Trump’s first week and the latest installment of “Making America Great Again.”
The national average price for a gallon of regular gas has dropped since Trump took office. As of Monday, it is $3.122, according to AAA. This is a decrease from Friday, when the cost of regular gas was slightly over $3.13 per gallon. It is also cheaper than the price for a gallon of regular gas on Sunday when it was $3.123. And, most interestingly, a gallon of regular is now less expensive than on former President Joe Biden’s last day in office, when it was $3.125.
Granted, this is an extremely small sample…
