President Donald Trump is recruiting some of the brightest innovators in the private sector to tackle challenges facing our bloated federal government. A large part of that effort, the development of the Department of Government Efficiency, or DOGE, led by Elon Musk, is already making a significant impact on the stale administrative state.
There should be nothing offensive about transparency in public administration, fiscal responsibility, and accountability to the taxpayer. But now that private-sector scrutiny is being applied to the federal bureaucracy, both the federal workforce and the liberal puppeteers that champion them are panicking.
