Given the significance that Democrats and other race agitators have placed on slavery, it is surprising that hardly anyone can identify the correct date when the institution ended in the United States.
Many mistakenly cite “Juneteenth,” on June 19, 1865, as slavery’s official end, succumbing to the incorrect narrative reinforced by leftists in recent years. Despite claims to the contrary, slavery still existed after this date. It was not until the ratification of the 13th Amendment on December 6, 1865, that slavery ended in the United States. Yet many of those who emphasized the importance of the “Juneteenth” holiday aren’t aware of the significance of Dec. 6.
