Daniel Radcliffe Wins His First Tony Award

The boy who lived has won his first Tony Award.

At the 77th Annual Tony Awards, Radcliffe won his award for best performance by a featured actor in a musical for his performance in “Merrily We Roll Along” for his role as Charley Kringas, the lyricist and best friend of Franklin Shepard (played by Jonathan Groff). This was also Radcliffe’s first nomination.

It’s an extra special day for Radcliffe as he’s also celebrating Father’s Day, too, after welcoming his son with longtime girlfriend Erin Darke.

While accepting his speech, he said, “My mum and dad are here somewhere — happy Father’s Day, dad, I love you both so much.
