The Philadelphia Eagles defeated the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl LIX, 40-22, on Sunday night. The game was played in New Orleans, with a reported crowd of 65,719 people, and millions more watched on television throughout the country.
While President Donald Trump, the first sitting president to attend a Super Bowl, was in New Orleans watching the game, his supporters received text messages asking for contributions.
At approximately 8:39 p.m., during the Super Bowl halftime, a text message titled “HALFTIME UPDATE FROM TRUMP” was sent to people throughout the country, presumably to mostly Trump supporters.
“If you voted for me, I need you to read this before the game ends ASAP,” said the message, followed by a link to a website.
