In the 2023-24 season, the NBA launched an in-season tournament branded the NBA Cup in an attempt to increase interest in their boring regular season, but the league’s plans haven’t worked out whatsoever. The ratings for the 2024 edition of the tournament have been dreadful, already seeing a double-digit decline compared to last year’s tourney.
And it’s not just the television ratings that have been bad, the ticket situation is pretty terrible as well as the price to see the conclusion of the NBA Cup in person is dirt cheap.
