A spokesperson for Bronny James’s family said the cardiac arrest that caused him to collapse during a workout on July 24 was due to a congenital heart defect.
James, 18, collapsed during a practice with the University of Southern California basketball team on which he plays guard. The heart defect is not expected to keep the son of NBA star LeBron James from playing basketball, the spokesperson said.
