Bernie Marcus dead: GOP donor and co-founder of Home Depot dies at 95

Marcus was surrounded by his family at the time of his death on Monday in Boca Raton, Florida. His legacy not only includes the home improvement chain, where he served as the chairman of the board until 2002, but also the Job Creators Network, an organization that offers training to small business owners.

“Bernie Marcus was one of the great American business success stories. He revolutionized the home improvement industry and retail in general. But Bernie was so much more than a businessman. He was a visionary, a philanthropist, and a dedicated family man,” JCN CEO Alfredo Ortiz said in a statement to the Washington Examiner.
