However, Trump is the presumptive candidate of the Republican Party, and by attempting to keep him off the ballot, by seeking to silence him, and/or by generally deplatforming him as the opposition, the Left is, in fact, threatening the democratic process.
After the Supreme Court ruling on immunity, the Left is saying that an independently adjudicating Supreme Court poses a threat to democracy—but the opposite is true.
The U.S. system of government is founded on the principle of an independent judiciary.
Furthermore, challenging presidential immunity is perilous.
