A Michigan case worker who works for a company assisting refugees was hospitalized Wednesday after being allegedly stabbed multiple times by an Afghan refugee, according to officials.
The Oakland County Sheriff’s Office confirmed on X Wednesday afternoon that the Afghan refugee had been arrested after stabbing the caseworker. On Wednesday afternoon, deputies received a 911 call about a man who had been stabbed on Red Root Road near E. Silverbell and Kern roads, according to WXYZ Detroit.
“The suspect fled the scene in his vehicle. The investigation revealed that the suspect is an Afghanistan refugee, and the victim is a caseworker for a company that assists refugees,” Oakland County Sheriff officials posted.
