Contribution requests to support Trump sent out as text messages during Super Bowl

The Philadelphia Eagles defeated the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl LIX, 40-22, on Sunday night. The game was played in New Orleans, with a reported crowd of 65,719 people, and millions more watched on television throughout the country. 

While President Donald Trump, the first sitting president to attend a Super Bowl, was in New Orleans watching the game, his supporters received text messages asking for contributions.

This picture shows the “Halftime Update from Trump” message that was sent out during the Super Bowl.

At approximately 8:39 p.m., during the Super Bowl halftime, a text message titled “HALFTIME UPDATE FROM TRUMP” was sent to people throughout the country, presumably to mostly Trump supporters. 

“If you voted for me, I need you to read this before the game ends ASAP,” said the message, followed by a link to a website
