REPORT: Missouri Police Arrest 41-Year-Old Man For Allegedly Kidnapping Sorority Girl

Authorities in Missouri arrested and charged a man with kidnapping and burglary for allegedly forcing his way into a sorority house near the University of Missouri (MU) Wednesday and briefly holding a female sorority member against her will, a local outlet reported.

Jeffrey Wheeland, 41, allegedly entered the residence in the Greektown neighborhood at about 6:51 p.m. by pushing past a sorority member after asking him to call the police because “he [Wheeland] was being chased and people were trying to kill him,” KOMU 8 News reported, citing MU Police Department (MUPD) records and court documents. Wheeland then allegedly seized several knives from the kitchen and made his way to the basement where the female sorority member was studying. He allegedly locked and barricaded himself and the student in the basement.
