The Director of National Intelligence nominee was recently thought to be all but down and out.
The Senate Intelligence Committee on Feb. 4 advanced President Trump’s nomination of Tulsi Gabbard to head the Office of the Director of National Intelligence to a full Senate vote. The committee voted 9-8 in favor of Gabbard, the former Democrat representative-turned-Republican. Every Republican on the committee supported Gabbard, with every Democrat voting against. Considered one of the more vulnerable nominees, Gabbard secured late support from Maine Republican Sen. Susan Collins and another skeptic, Sen. Todd Young, Republican of Indiana.
