One person killed and another injured in Tennessee school shooting

One student was killed and another was injured during a school shooting at Antioch High School in Nashville, Tennessee.

The perpetrator, identified as Solomon Henderson, a 17-year-old male student at the school, shot two female students in the school’s cafeteria at 11:09 a.m. before he shot himself. Metro Nashville Police identified the fatal victim as 16-year-old Josselin Corea Escalante.

A spokesperson for Vanderbilt University Medical Center told News 2 that three patients were brought to the hospital, one of whom was pronounced deceased upon arrival while another was treated for a graze wound to the arm.

Another student suffered a face injury but was not hit by gunfire, police said. 

The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives, Tennessee Bureau of Investigation, and the FBI are assisting with the incident.
