President Donald Trump signed an executive order on Thursday, January 23, that all records pertaining to the assassinations of John F. Kennedy, Robert F. Kennedy, and Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. be released to the public.
In the order, the president points out that he gave certain agencies three years to determine what information regarding these assassinations could be declassified, but that Joe Biden then extended the time. Now, however, Trump expects full disclosure with no redactions.
“Their families and the American people deserve transparency and truth,” he wrote. “It is in the national interest to finally release all records related to these assassinations without delay.”
