Former Republican House Speaker Kevin McCarthy said Thursday on Fox News that he saw First Lady Jill Biden act “just as much president” as her husband throughout his term.
Following President Joe Biden’s poor debate performance against President-elect Donald Trump in June, questions arose as to why the president chose to seek reelection, with some reports saying his wife played a role encouraging him to run. Jill Biden recently told The Washington Post that she was “disappointed” in former Democratic House Speaker Nancy Pelosi for not supporting Biden’s reelection bid, as Democrats called for him to drop out.
