Illinois Set to Seize Guns of Alleged Domestic Abusers

Public safety spars with due process.

Illinois lawmakers have passed legislation requiring police to take possession of guns from accused domestic abusers who are subject to protection orders. The Prairie State statute seeks to protect domestic violence victims but may run afoul of the due process guaranteed by the Constitution.

Rising Domestic Violence
