Getty Villa Grounds Catch Fire, Residents Flee

Additional wildfires have erupted in the Los Angeles area, adding to the devastation already wrought by the Pacific Palisades blaze.

On Tuesday night, Jan. 7, another fire broke out in the Eaton Canyon area, which includes neighborhoods like Pasadena and Altadena. Per the Los Angeles Times, the so-called Eaton fire had already burned over 2,200 acres by Wednesday morning, the blaze spurred on by gusts of wind up to 99 miles per hour. 

Additionally, the Hurst fire broke out last night near the neighborhood of Sylmar in the northern part of the San Fernando Valley. That blaze also grew rapidly thanks to raging winds, from 50 acres last night to more than 500 by early Wednesday morning.

The smaller Woodley fire broke out in a park in the Sepulveda Basin, which is further south in the San Fernando Valley. It’s currently believed to be about 75 acres and could cross…
