Melatonin is the most popular over-the-counter sleep supplement out there. Like many others, I’ve tried taking melatonin to improve my sleep quality at night, but the results took me by surprise.
The few times I’ve taken any amount of this sleep aid, I felt groggy and “hungover” for hours the following day. My body’s adverse reaction to melatonin seems to defeat the purpose of taking it in the first place: to feel more rested during the day. I decided melatonin is not the best sleep supplement for me.
