PETA Demands SMU Stop Using Live Mascots, But Can They Please Shut Up Already?

Just go away, PETA. Just go away.

While I’m writing this, the SMU Mustangs and Clemson Tigers’ football programs are squaring off in the ACC championship game in Charlotte, North Carolina. Before the contest, SMU, while traveling, brought along a live mascot. As cool as that sounds, however, not everybody is happy about it.

Prior to the game, the Mustangs announced their mascot, Peruna, will be in attendance to help push the team as they attempt to maintain an undefeated conference record. And not just that; SMU is looking to lock up a spot in the College Football Playoff.
