Trump says Haley and Pompeo will not be part of second administration

President-elect Donald Trump made clear that former U.N. Ambassador Nikki Haley and former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo will not be part of his administration after securing a return to the White House earlier this week.

Trump announced the decision in a Truth Social post on Saturday night.

“I will not be inviting former Ambassador Nikki Haley, or former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, to join the Trump Administration, which is currently in formation. I very much enjoyed and appreciated working with them previously, and would like to thank them for their service to our Country. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!” he said.

Haley, who served as ambassador to the United Nations under Trump for one year, ran against him in the Republican presidential primaries this election cycle, eventually dropping out just after Super Tuesday in March of this year. She notably withheld her…
